Test Session Positive for Leaty Modified Williamson, NY - After a brief hiatus from racing, Jan Leaty kicked off the 2001 racing season by piloting his new #6 Troyer modified through a night of practice at Spencer Speedway, in Williamson, NY. From all indications, the May 5th testing was positive, as Leaty turned in some of the faster lap times recorded on the ½ mile oval. For Leaty and the rest of the Schum-Branich Motorsports team, the test sets the stage for the first race of their season, the "Service Electric 100," to be held at Nazareth (PA) Speedway on May 20, 2001. Nazareth is a one mile trioval, and the 100 lap race is part of the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Touring Series. The Nazareth race will give the team a chance to showcase their marketing partners for the upcoming season.
