Erich Wins First
Ever Micro 600 Feature
Williamson, NY - After winning the
2007 Paradise Speedway track karting championship in the
“unrestricted “ division, Erich Kaempffe made the jump to
600 microsprints in 2008. It didn’t
take long for the talent to show through, as Erich
finished 4th in the feature event in the 600
Amateur division at Paradise on Saturday June 21st,
and followed it up one week later with his first ever
microsprint feature win on the ¼ mile clay oval.
He
powered his Pace Electronics sponsored Bailey to a
runner-up finish in the heat race, earning an outside pole
starting position in the feature. When
the green flag flew, he and pole sitter Trevor Bliss raced
side by side for two laps. Erich was
able to grab a lead he never relinquished en route to the
victory. The race was slowed by only
one caution.
The
Branich microsprint team will be back in action at
Paradise on July 5th.
Erich’s
microsprint effort is also sponsored by Heluva Good Foods
(Sodus, NY), Mr. Auto/Parts Plus (Ontario, NY), Carl’s
Cleaning Service (Williamson, NY), and Ed Harof
(Williamsville, NY). Product support
comes from Amsoil, FTZ Performance, and ARS.
Sponsors Added to Branich 2008 Roster
Williamson, NY - Two sponsors have recently been added to
the 2008 Branich roster. Lyons National Bank, headquartered in Lyons, NY, has
sponsored the Branich "Racin' for Kids" program for several
years, and recently announced it would continue that support
in 2008. The Branich team kicked off the 2008 Racin' for
Kids program with a trip to Cato-Meridian Elementary School
this past week for presentations to support the school's
"Racing into Reading" program. The kids delighted in the
opportunity to see Jan Leaty's 2008 NASCAR modified up close
and personal! For more information about our Racin' for
Kids program, visit the team website at
www.speedwayad.com/Branich, and click on the Racin' for
Kids icon. Branich is also proud to announce we will be
teaming up with VP Racing Fuels in 2008, as VP will be
providing product support for the team modifieds. For more
than 30 years, VP Racing's dedication to technological
development through R&D has set it apart from other racing
fuel companies. We all are confident the partnership will
add to our winning traditions. VP Racing products are
available for export worldwide and are distributed
conveniently though warehouses across the U.S., North
America, and around the world. Learn more at
www.vpracingfuels.com.
LNB, VP, and all of the rest of Branich's 2008 sponsors
were on display last weekend at the 22nd Annual Motorsports
Exposition and Trade Show, held at the NYS Fairgrounds in
Syracuse. As defending Race of Champions 200 Modified
winner, Jan's Troyer modified was on display in the Oswego
Speedway booth, along with the prestigious Al Gerber
Memorial Race of Champions Trophy.

LEATY TOPS NASCAR MODS
by Gary M. Spaid
WILLIAMSON, NY…In NASCAR Modified feature action it
all came down to the final lap and final turn. T.J. Potrzebowski, who led
from the start of the 30-lap feature, made contact with a lap car,
allowing Mike Leaty, running in third at the time, to duck low and out
drag Potrzebowski down the front straight for the win. “As the track
point leader I had to go for it,” related Leaty. “T.J. had a great car and
he deserved the win, but I’ll take a win anyway I can get one.”

2006 & 2007 Spencer Speedway Track Champion
